This page explains what Goals Tracker (goaltrackers.live) stores about you, why, which services help run it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Who is responsible

Goals Tracker is built and maintained by Ali Ahmad, an independent developer, who is responsible for the data described here. You can reach us at support@goaltrackers.live

What we store

  • Account details: your name, email address, a hashed version of your password (never the password itself), your timezone and your reminder settings.
  • What you add: goals, tasks, courses and assessments, projects, clients (including any name, company, email and notes you enter for them), invoices, time entries, weekly reviews, targets and custom categories.
  • Activity: a daily count of completed tasks, used for your streaks and heatmap.
  • Usage analytics: pages visited and general device and browser information, collected by Google Analytics.

How we use it

  • To run your account and show your goals, tasks, progress and statistics.
  • To send emails you ask for: password-reset links and, if switched on, the daily reminder.
  • To protect sign-in from abuse by limiting repeated attempts.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.

We don’t sell your data and we don’t show ads.

Services that help run Goals Tracker

  • Vercel hosts the website and app.
  • Neon hosts the Postgres database where your account and content are stored.
  • Resend sends emails. If a reminder email bounces or is marked as spam, reminders are switched off for that address.
  • Upstash stores short-lived counters, keyed by email address, used to rate-limit sign-in attempts.
  • Google Analytics measures site usage with cookies.

Each provider processes data on our behalf under its own privacy terms.

Cookies and local storage

  • Sign-in cookies keep you signed in and protect forms. They’re required for the app to work.
  • Google Analytics cookies measure visits. You can block them with your browser’s settings or an extension; the app keeps working.
  • Local storage in your browser remembers preferences such as light or dark mode and dismissed banners.

Who can see your data

No other user can see your goals, tasks or time logs; they are only shown after you sign in to your account. The services listed above store or process data as needed to run the app, and the operator can access the database to maintain the service and fix problems.

Your choices

  • Export: download all of your data as a spreadsheet (Excel), or as JSON, from Settings.
  • Delete: permanently delete your account and everything in it from Settings.
  • Reminders: turn the daily email off in Settings or with the unsubscribe link in any reminder.
  • Corrections: edit or remove anything you’ve added at any time in the app.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, it is removed from our database straight away; copies may remain in our providers’ backups for a limited time until those backups expire.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and password-reset links expire after one hour. No method of storing data online is perfectly secure, but we work to protect yours.

Children

Goals Tracker is not intended for children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Questions? Email support@goaltrackers.live
